WORDLESS MEANINGS
RAGA DOLLS

In the beginning there was harmony.. before everyone became too busy to stop and listen… harmony became lost in a cacophony of meaningless words.  Is it too late to imagine a new beginning?

Enter the Raga Dolls, a Melbourne-based salon ensemble who perform the compositions and arrangements of composer/violinist David Osborne.  This music is designed to be accessible to people of all ages and musical persuasions, and marks the return of real harmony and melody, reminiscent of the tea salons of the twenties. On this special issue, there are two bonus tracks not included on the original sold-out pressing, including a cabaret-style version of Schubert's Du Bist due Ruh sung by Australian TV star Caroline Craig.

review extracts:
"Everyone is suitably occupied in a role; all of which suits the salon set-up……. we have here a very wide range of styles that will have an appeal to a wide variety of listeners.    I was charmed by the arrangements and the effortlessly beautiful ensemble and tone quality. I am secure in the knowledge that my mother would really enjoy this CD."  - MusicWeb
